Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 4 tbsp butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • salt and cracked black pepper, to taste
  • shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese (optional)
  • caramelized onions (optional)

Equipment

  • large skillet
  • tongs
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • knife
  • cutting board

Method

  1. Season chicken generously with salt, black pepper, and paprika on both sides.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until melted and foaming.
  3. Add chicken and cook 5–6 minutes per side until deeply golden and nearly cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. Melt remaining butter in the same skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, stirring constantly.
  6. Stir in chicken broth and honey. Simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly reduced.
  7. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over each piece.
  8. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 8–10 minutes until chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  9. If desired, top chicken with shredded cheese and caramelized onions. Cover for 1–2 minutes until cheese melts.
  10. Garnish with dried parsley and serve warm directly from the skillet.

Notes

Pat chicken dry before searing for the best golden crust. Do not burn the garlic or the sauce can become bitter. Use chicken thighs for extra juicy results. Simmer covered for the full 8–10 minutes to ensure tender, flavorful chicken.
