Ingredients

  • 24 pretzel crisps or mini pretzel twists
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup pepper jelly
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely sliced
  • Chopped parsley
  • Extra pepper jelly

Equipment

  • Serving platter or large board
  • Piping bag
  • Small zip-top bag
  • spoon
  • knife

Method

  1. Arrange the pretzel crisps or mini pretzel twists in a single layer on a serving platter or large board. Leave a little space between them so they are easy to pick up once assembled.
  2. Spoon or pipe a small amount of softened cream cheese onto the center of each pretzel. For the neatest presentation, use a piping bag or a small zip-top bag with the corner snipped off.
  3. Spoon about ½ teaspoon of pepper jelly over the cream cheese on each pretzel. Keep the amount modest so the jelly stays neatly on top rather than running over the sides.
  4. Sprinkle each bite with chopped pecans. The nuts add a wonderful buttery crunch that contrasts with the smooth cream cheese and sticky pepper jelly.
  5. Finish with finely sliced green onions and chopped parsley if desired. For an extra glossy presentation, drizzle a very small amount of additional pepper jelly over the finished platter.
  6. Serve the pretzel bites immediately after assembling. This keeps the pretzels crisp and prevents the cream cheese and jelly from softening the pretzel base.

Notes

Soften the cream cheese completely for easy piping or spooning. Use sturdy pretzel crisps or mini pretzel twists and avoid overfilling. Assemble the bites shortly before serving so the pretzels stay crisp. Store leftover ingredients separately: cream cheese and pepper jelly refrigerated, and pretzels sealed at room temperature.
