Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 sheet pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Equipment

  • large skillet
  • baking sheet
  • mixing spoon
  • knife
  • cutting board

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add bell peppers and olives if using. Cook for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Roll pizza dough into a 10x14-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
  6. Spread beef mixture evenly over dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Top with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  7. Roll tightly into a log, pinch seams to seal, and place seam-side down on baking sheet.
  8. Cut small slits on top and brush with beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

Let the filling cool slightly before rolling to prevent soggy dough. Do not overfill to avoid bursting during baking. Pinch seams tightly and place seam-side down. Use a serrated knife for clean slices.
