Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut into squares or rectangles.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Place a slice of guava paste and a spoonful of cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the pastry over to create a triangle or rectangle and seal the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra crispiness, chill the assembled pastries for 15 minutes before baking.
